Okay, this is what we are really looking forward to. This is what AMD had been promising us since July. Let's start with the official AMD charts, before going to our own compilation of Barcelona vs. Xeon results.
Before we start with these though, we just want to point out to you that the Y-axis in all these charts do not start with 0, so they do not tell the true story. We covered this issue in our editorial on how bad charts make great PR.
We have also taken the liberty to correct the original AMD charts to give you charts that represent the data far more accurately. In this page and the next, you will see the original AMD chart, followed by our corrected chart.
Dual Core Vs. Quad Core
First off, AMD compares the new quad-core 2.0 GHz Opteron 2350 against its dual-core compatriot, the Opteron 2200 which runs at 2.8 GHz.

These results show the performance advantage of the new quad-core AMD Opteron 2350 (2.0 GHz) with rapid virtualization indexing enabled.
