The Thermometer

The ThermoEye DT2000 is oval in shape, with a relatively large LCD display and a button in the front. It measures 78mm long, 42mm wide and 13mm thick. Although the shell is made entirely from white plastic, it appears well-built and should have no problem handling the rigours of normal use.

Front

On the lower edge, there is a 4-pin socket. That's where the sensors are connected to the display unit. You can also see a large velcro sticker attached to the back of the display unit.

Bottom

The velcro sticker allows you to attach the ThermoEye to any dry surface; and detach it when you need to use it elsewhere.

Let's take a look at the back of the thermometer.

Back, With Velcro Sticker

During transportation, a plastic insert keeps the battery inside from being drained. To use the ThermoEye, you have to open the battery lid and remove the plastic insert. You should keep the insert in a safe place in case you need it in the future.

The ThermoEye uses the common CR2032 battery. Battery life is unknown but replacing the battery, at least, will not be a problem.

Back

Note the red recessed button at the upper end of the battery lid. That's the temperature unit switch. This switch allows to switch the temperature unit from °C to °F and back.
