Thermalright XP-120
The Thermalright XP-120 is actually the predecessor of the SI-120. If you want to know more about the Thermalright SI-120, you can take a look at our review.
The XP-120 was released a long time ago, but we only received a sample when Thermalright sent it along with their new Thermalright HR-01 for comparison.
The Packaging
The packaging follows Thermalright's usual minimalistic approach - a brown cardboard box with Thermalright's logo printed on it. The red stickers on the side of the box affirms that the XP-120 supports both AMD and Intel processors.
It's not particularly attractive, but it is practical. The box and the styrofoam packaging within does a really good job of protecting the contents during delivery.
When you open the box, you will find the XP-120 heatsink protected by styrofoam on the sides, with a piece of paper (the user manual!) and a Thermalright sticker sitting on top.
Sitting under the XP-120 is another layer of styrofoam which houses the bracket for Socket 754/939/940 processors and other accessories.
