3DMark03 Build 340
3DMark Score
Wow! The scores on NoAA/AF is about neck to neck! That's really impressive for a modded mid-range card. It managed to catch up with NVIDIA's recently displaced flagship card - the GeForce FX 5950 Ultra.
Notice as the quality settings are cranked up, the Radeon 9800SE suffers more than the FX 5950 Ultra. This is not surprising as the Radeon 9800SE comes with only 128MB of memory, whereas the FX 5950 Ultra is a 256MB card.
Test 1 : Wings Of Fury
As we all know, Wings of Fury is a DirectX 7 benchmark. Interestingly, the Radeon 9800SE takes the lead by 1 fps. This lead is, of course, negligible. Again, the Radeon 9800SE takes a slightly larger penalty when the quality settings are cranked up. Keep in mind that this is a 128MB card while the GeForce FX 5950 Ultra is a 256MB card.
Test 2 : Battle Of Proxycon
Here, the 5950 Ultra takes the lead, with the 9800SE snapping at its heels. The gap widens at higher quality settings.
Test 3 : Troll's Lair
With AA disabled, we can see both cards performing exactly the same! However, when the quality is increased, 5950 Ultra pulls away from the modded Radeon 9800SE.
Test 4 : Mother Nature
Mother Nature is a DirectX 9 test that utilizes Pixel Shader 2.0. As you can see, the Radeon 9800SE takes the lead by 3 fps with AA/AF disabled. At 2AA/4AF, both cards are virtually neck to neck! The 5950 Ultra's 256MB memory buffer gave it a slight boost over the 9800SE at full quality settings.
