Definitive Review of the Crucial PC2100 DDR-SDRAM

The Module

The 256MB Crucial PC2100 DDR SDRAM DIMM is a double-sided module with sixteen DDR SDRAM chips. Note that due to the greater number of memory chips on this DIMM, a higher SDRAM driving strength may be needed. However, I could run it just fine with default settings. Below is a picture of the front of the DIMM.

The two labels show you how Crucial-Micron operates. The left label is a Micron label listing Micron's part number for the DIMM (MT16VDDT3264AG-265A1) as well as its specifications. The label on the right however, is Crucial Technology's label. The main thing on it is the Crucial-specific part number (CT3264Z265).

As you can see, the entire DIMM was designed and manufactured by Micron. Hence, the Micron label. Crucial Technology just takes the DIMM and slaps its own label on it and markets it as a Crucial memory module.

There's nothing much on the back, except for the eight DDR SDRAM chips. You can see the SPD chip on the top left corner of the DIMM.
