Unboxing The ASUS ZenFone 2 Smartphone
ASUS launched the ASUS ZenFone 2 family of smartphones to great acclaim. Here in Malaysia, more than 1,500 ASUS fans lined up to be the first to purchase and own one. It is, after all, the world's first smartphone to come with 4 GB of RAM and the latest 22 nm Intel Atom (Moorefield) quad-core processor. Yet they only cost between RM 599 and RM 1,299 (US$ 169-369)! No wonder they are selling like hot cakes.
ASUS Malaysia kindly gave us the premium ZE551ML version of the ASUS ZenFone 2, which is just in time to cover our trip to Intel Penang for the Intel Intelligent Generations 2015 event. This ASUS ZenFone 2 model comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. You can check out the full specifications of this particular model in the table below. What's Inside The Box?
The ASUS ZenFone 2 comes in a compact retail box, with a label on the underside. As the box is a generic ZenFone 2 box and there are five ZenFone 2 models, it pays to check the label to make sure you are getting the right model. The most important specifications are its colour, processor model, RAM size and internal storage size. Be sure to check the seals to make sure they are not broken or cut.

The ASUS ZenFone 2 box actually consists of the outer sleeve and an inner white box. Just cut the three seals and slide the inner white box sideways, and you will find the ZenFone 2 sitting on top.

Removing the ZenFone 2 reveals a box underneath, containing the documents and accessories. When you remove everything, you should find the following items :
- One ASUS ZenFone 2 smartphone
- One ASUS BoostMaster charger with one plug adaptor and USB cable
- One set of ASUS earphones with two sets of spare ear buds.
- One ASUS ZenFone 2 User Guide and warranty card
- One set of three serial number and IMEI stickers
