Unboxing The Early 2015 Apple MacBook Pro
The long-awaited Early 2015 refresh of the 13" MacBook Pro with Retina Display brought with it significant improvements, even while it maintained the same unibody design.
While most pundits already predicted an upgrade to the 5th Generation Intel Core processor (codenamed Broadwell), its attendant Iris Graphics 6100 graphics processor and a longer battery life, no one expected the Early 2015 MacBook Pro to also feature the new Force Touch trackpad and a much faster SSD.
All-in-all, they provided enough incentive for many people to upgrade, include yours truly. Today, we are going to unbox the latest 13" Apple MacBook Pro (Early 2015) for your viewing pleasure. We will also compare it to the mid-2010 MacBook Pro. Let's take a look!

What's Inside The Box?
The 13" MacBook Pro (Early 2015) came in a nondescript plain brown box. Nothing fancy. The actual retail box is nestled within, protected from vibration, bumps and worse by four hard cardboard spacers. Despite being tossed around all the way from the Songjiang Export Processing Zone in Shanghai, China, the box of our 13" MacBook Pro (Early 2015) arrived in pristine condition.
Like all MacBook retail boxes, this is a generic MacBook Pro box with the actual contents listed in a sticker at the lower left corner of the box's underside. As you can see, the label lists everything from its part and serial numbers to the basic specification of the MacBook Pro inside.
Gaining access to the MacBook Pro itself is easy - just tear off the shrink wrap and lift off the top of the box, and voilà! - the latest 13" Apple MacBook Pro, sitting in a plastic tray.
Lift the MacBook Pro up by pulling on the clear plastic tab, and you will see the included accessories below. The accessories are all embedded within the plastic tray, which prevents them from moving about during delivery. In case you are wondering, there is nothing under the tray. Yes, we checked.
Like all Apple products, there is minimal fluff. Here are the items you will find inside :
- one 13" Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display (Early 2015)
- one 60 W MagSafe 2 power adaptor
- one AC wall plug
- one power cord with AC wall plug
- one cardboard packet containing an information sheet, a Quick Start Guide, two Apple stickers and a black cleaning cloth
