WinBench 99 Version 2.0
Business Disk WinBench 99
The 1 TB Western Digital VelociRaptor blew its competitors out of the water in this test, delivering at least 34% better throughput than the second fastest hard disk drive in this comparison, its predecessor - the 600 GB Western Digital VelociRaptor! It was more than twice as fast as the original 300 GB Western Digital VelociRaptor. That is seriously fast!

High-End Disk WinBench 99
It did even better in the High-End Disk WinMark 99 test, delivering a phenomenal throughput of 172 MB/s, which makes it 36.5% faster than the 600 GB Western Digital VelociRaptor and more than 2.8x faster than the 300 GB VelociRaptor.

Transfer Rate Range
This chart shows you the range of platter-to-buffer transfer rates from the innermost track to the outermost track. In other words, it shows you the range of disk transfer rates of the hard drives (from minimum and maximum).
The 1 TB Western Digital VelociRaptor obviously had the best transfer rate range of the lot. Its peak transfer rate of 207 MB/s was 35% higher than that of the 600 GB VelociRaptor and 42% higher than the 2 TB Western Digital Caviar Black (6 Gbps) hard disk drive. Interestingly, its minimum transfer rate of 125 MB/s was actually the same as the 300 GB VelociRaptor's maximum transfer rate!
