The Package

Just in with the 512MB PC3500 Black Dual Pack modules we received in the past, the PC4000 Dual Pack modules came in a big box. It was certainly big enough to fit a good-sized power supply unit! Opening the box revealed Mushkin's trademark - the Air Box!

As you can see, the Air Box is the reason for the use of such a large box. This is a stark contrast from the much smaller packaging used by other memory module companies like Crucial and Corsair.

Within the Air Box were not two, but FOUR Mushkin memory modules! Mushkin actually sent us two revisions of their PC4000 Dual Pack memory modules!

Why two revisions? Well, the two revisions actually make use of different DDR SDRAM chips. We will go into the details later in the review.
