Alex was our affable host. He started off with a short presentation on HP's new vision in the PDA market.
He also showed us how far HP has advanced in the PDA market. Take a look at the graph below.
As you can see, by the first quarter of this year, Hewlett-Packard effectively controlled slightly over 27% of the PDA market. Its nearest competitor, PalmOne, only had a market share of 15.3%.
Off topic a little, you can also see Sony's market share dropping below 10%. No wonder they had to withdraw from the market, at least outside Japan.
Then he showed us slides of the new Pocket PCs. Please note that there will be slight variations of the model number, based on the distribution area.
The slide below shows the new h6300 and rx3400/rx3700 series of Pocket PCs; and their main selling points.
Next up is the chart comparing the three of the five new Pocket PCs from HP - the value-level rz1700, the high-end hx4700 and the convergent h6300.
Pretty impressive specs, no?
