Seagate DB35 Series

The Seagate DB35 series is a new range of 3.5" drives from Seagate, specifically targeted at digital video recorders (DVR) and home media servers. It features the DynaPlay technology which gives manufacturers the following features for tuning their DVR operations :

  • Performance optimizations for sequential streaming
  • DriveTrust technology which allows manufacturers to implement digital rights management technologies
  • Power optimization tools to reduce demand for power and thermal output, as well as enhance system reliability

The DB35 series will debut in the third quarter of 2006 in both Parallel ATA as well as Serial ATA flavours. Seagate will offer a wide range of capacities, ranging from 80GB to 750GB.

  • Supports ten simultaneous standard TV streams
  • Up to 750 hours of standard TV capacity
  • Up to 125 hours of high-definition TV capacity
  • 2.0 amp spin-up power limit
  • Low 7.5 watt power consumption
