Unfortunately, there was only a beta Forceware driver for the NV40. Our contact says that the official WHQL-certified driver will not be available until after the launch although it will be ready before the cards start shipping.
Now, let's start testing the NV40!
Benchmark
Now on to the benchmark results! We will start off with Halo!
NV40 soundly trashed both ATI and NVIDIA's former flagship cards. Believe it or not, it is MORE THAN TWICE as fast as either card! The R420 better be good or else...
Next, we will take a look at Gun Metal, another new DX9 game.
Look at the ease at which the NV40 left the other two cards in the dust!
