The AMD PRO A12 Processor Technology Report
On the 25th of September, 2015, we participated in a conference call with John Hampton, Kevin Lensing and Diane Stapley from AMD. They briefed us about the new AMD PRO 6th Generation APUs, led by the newly-launched AMD PRO A1-8800B APU.

John Hampton is the Director of Worldwide Commercial Client Business Development at AMD, while Kevin Lensing is the Corporate Vice President and General Manager of AMD's Client Business Unit Computing and Graphics Business Group. Diane Stapley, on the other hand, is the Director of Alliances at AMD.

The conference call began with Kevin Lensing's presentation. Kevin is the Corporate Vice President and General Manager of AMD's Client Business Unit Computing and Graphics Business Group.

Kevin began by giving us an update on AMD's success in the commercial, enterprise and public sectors. They doubled their commercial design wins in 2013-2014, and achieved record shipments of their commercial platforms in Q2 2015.
)
One of their biggest commercial successes was the AMD PRO A8 APU, which powered the 2nd best selling desktop in the commercial market - the HP Elite 705 desktop. The other is the AMD Radeon R9 graphics processor, which powered the 27" Apple iMac with Retina 5K Display!

He gave an example of a case study involving the global facilities service provider, ISS. They collaborated with HP on standardising their 500,000 staff members with the HP EliteBook 745 notebook. It was a major design win for AMD.
