XG Sidewinder ATX Case Review

XG is a division of the MGE Company. It concentrates on products like computer cases, power supplies and accessories like fans, mod kits, cables, etc. Amongst the cases they produce is the Sidewinder.

Many thanks to the kind folks at XG for supplying the case for this review. Not only does this case look great, it is packed full of features to satisfy even the most demanding of gamers.

Now, let's take a look at the Sidewinder!

The Package

The case was packed very well. As you can see in the pictures below, the corners were properly protected from damage using standard styrofoam covers.

Out of the box

The box itself shows the features of the case pretty well. Each info card shows the key features of the Sidewinder :

      • Iron Chassis
      • Acrylic Window
      • Durability
      • 400W Power Supply
      • 6 Drive Bays
      • Dual-Side LED fans
      • USB 2.0 & Firewire
      • Front Airflow System

The Sidewinder does, in fact, come with all those features plus a whole lot more!

The package includes a beefy 400W SATA-ready PSU. Upgrading to more power-intensive hardware will no longer be a problem. The demands of newer hardware has pushed the power requirement of a gaming PC beyond what 230W or even 300W PSUs can provide. So, the inclusion of a 400W PSU is most welcomed.

Whole package

Some cases don't even come with a power supply. Some people may prefer that as it allows them to select their own PSU. But the inclusion of a 400W PSU in the package is convenient as it is powerful enough for even power-hungry hardware. So, there's no need to go shopping for another PSU. This one should do just nice.

The thick cables from the power supply were sleeved to keep them from dangling everywhere. It also makes them look great. A nice little touch.
