The NVIDIA 6th Editors' Day

On February 28th, NVIDIA held their 6th Editors' Day at their headquarters in Santa Clara, California. We had the opportunity to be part of this exciting event. After travelling more than a whole day across the globe, Adrian finally reached Santa Clara. After a short rest, it was off to a full day at the NVIDIA headquarters!

We were taken to a large conference hall where everyone could settle down, fire up their notebooks and catch a quick bite before the action began. Soon enough, NVIDIA started off the day.

Vice President of Technical Marketing

The serious stuff started off with a briefing on the GeForce 7900 and GeForce 7600 GPUs. Of course, we have already covered them in our GeForce 7900 Technology Report and GeForce 7600 Technology Report so be sure to check them out if you want to find out more about these new GPUs.

NVIDIA Director of Public Relations

We were, of course, treated to new demos created by NVIDIA to show off the capabilities of the new GPUs. For example, you can now download a 3D blob demo which will show you just how much more realism features like HDR (High Dynamica Range) lighting and motion blur add to the visuals.

Next, we were brought up to date on NVIDIA's plans for the notebook market. Jerry Chen showed off the new SLI notebooks from Toshiba and Dell. We will have more details on that later.

NVIDIA also touched on their nForce4 motherboards. Of course, most of it was just a repetition of what we covered in the nForce4 SLI XE and Ultra Technology Report.

Of course, with Vista on everyone's minds, NVIDIA thought it prudent to keep us updated on that score and give us a demo of what Vista can do.. using NVIDIA graphics cards naturally!

At the end of the long day, NVIDIA's CEO & President Jen-Hsun Huang dropped by to talk to us and answer our questions. What an opportunity!

With that ended the day we had at NVIDIA. But that's not all. We came back with loads of information to share. In the following pages, we will be going through what NVIDIA covered with everyone at Editors' Day.

But since we have already covered the new GeForce 7900 and GeForce 7600 GPUs in detail, we will be skipping them. In addition, we have already covered most of the details on the nForce4 motherboards. Let's check out the rest!
