A Closer Look At The iPro LIVEPAD 8.9

We had the opportunity to unbox and check out the iPro LIVEPAD 8.9 tablets. Here, we have the only model that is currently available - the White 16 GB model.

As the label shows, it was always iPro's plan to offer a Black option, as well as 32 GB of storage.

Well, hello there!

First impression - this is no light weight. The LIVEPAD 8.9 has a real heft to it!

Although the iPro LIVEPAD 8.9 comes with 16 GB of flash storage, only 5.26 GB of storage is available out of the box. Not only does the Windows 8 operating system take up about 4 GB of space and Office 365 take up 3 GB, the entire setup is replicated in a Recovery partition! That's why it appears as if there is only 10.8 GB of storage.

While this allows end users to easily restore the tablet in case of trouble, it locks up a lot of storage space. Those who can afford it should wait for the 32 GB model which retails at just RM 100 (~US$ 28) more.

Incidentally, every LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet comes with a free one year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal as well as 1 TB of cloud storage via Microsoft OneDrive.

The iPro LIVEPAD 8.9's Gaming Capability

iPro then demonstrated the LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet's gaming capability with two LIVEPAD tablets set up for two Counter-Strike players to "duke it out".

The quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor and 2 GB of DDR3L memory proved to be fast enough to game on. Impressive!
