Sisoft Sandra Disk Benchmark
Sequential Write
Again, the scenario here is the same as with the Buffered Write tests. The performance of the RAID 1 (Mirrored) array was expectedly bad.
RAID 0 with the 1024 KB stripe size topped the chart, though by not much. And again, RAID 0 with the 128 KB stripe size was the worst performing RAID 0 setup.
Random Write
This scenario is a little bit more interesting. Topping the chart again was none other than RAID 0 with the 1024 KB stripe size. However, RAID 0 with the 128 KB stripe size is no longer the worst performer of the RAID 0 arrays.
Mirroring, Spanning and normal mode appears to perform at the same level. Now, why is this so?
