ASUS Eee PC 901/1000 Series Launch
The first day started off with the official launch of the new ASUS Eee PC 901 and 1000 series. These new netbooks are based on the new Intel Atom microprocessor and feature the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine which promises to maximize system performance while greatly extending battery life.
Three specific models were launched that day - the small Eee PC 901 with a 8.9" display and two Eee PC 1000 models with a 10" or 10.2" display. The Eee PC 1000 will come with a solid state drive (SSD) while the Eee PC 1000H will have a SATA hard disk drive and Dolby Sound Room support (also available with the Eee PC 901).
The Eee PC 901 is the lightest of the three at just 1.1 kg. The Eee PC 1000 was the second heaviest at 1.33 kg. The Eee PC 1000H was even heavier at 1.45 kg. All three netbooks will come with a 6-cell battery, 1.3 megapixel webcam, 802b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth support.

Both the ASUS Eee PC 1000 and the Eee PC 1000H come with the following features :

- Digital array microphone for crystal-clear audio recordings.
They differ in the following ways :
- The Eee PC 1000 is only available with Linux, while the Eee PC 1000H is available with either Windows XP Home or Linux.
- The Eee PC 1000 uses a solid state drive while the Eee PC 1000H uses a SATA hard drive.
- The Eee PC 1000H supports Dolby Sound Room while the Eee PC 1000 does not.
