Super PI
Super PI Mod 1.5 calculates pi to a specific number of digits after the decimal point. We elected to use 1 million digits (1M). The result is given in the form of the time taken to finish the calculation (in seconds). However, it is a single-threaded benchmark, so it's only useful as an indication of how fast these processors are with older, single-threaded applications.
The Intel Core i7-975 Extreme Edition did well in this test, completing the calculations in under than 12.3 seconds. That made it just over 5% faster than the Core i7-965 Extreme Edition, for a 4% boost in clock speed.
When compared to the other processors, the Core i7-975 E was 26.4% faster than the Core i7-920, 14.4% faster than the Core i7-940 and just over 10% faster than the Core i7-950.
