The Intel / iPro LIVEPAD 8.9 Face To Face Event

On the 5th of March, 2015, Intel and iPro invited us to a "Face to Face" session with their LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet. The iPro LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet was actually launched on the 27th of February 2015 with an attractive price of RM 699 (~US$ 199) for the 16 GB model, with the first 500 buyers receiving a free keyboard case worth RM 199 (~US$ 56)!

According to iPro, the response was overwhelming, with the first 500 units taken up in the first two days. The event was held to give the media an opportunity to try out the iPro LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet, as well as to announce the upcoming availability of a Black colour option as well as a 32 GB internal storage option. At The Outback Steakhouse

We Malaysians like our food (a little too much!), so most events are held where good food can be found! This time, the venue was the Outback Steakhouse at BB Plaza. We arrived early, in time to see the iPro roadshow truck roll into place.

The Event Begins!

The event began with Mr. Sumner Lemon, Country Manager of Intel Malaysia & Singapore speaking a little about partnering with iPro to produce the LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet.

Mr. Darren Ryan, Director of PC Content Management, Microsoft APAC then spoke about working with both Intel Malaysia and iPro in developing the LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet.

Finally, Mr. Daniel Chia, Head of Sales & Marketing, IPRO Mobile (M) Sdn Bhd. demonstrated, or rather, detailed the LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet's key features and capabilities. He inadvertently demonstrated the problem with USB connections too - they can be temperamental.

Then they went out for a photo op with the iPro roadshow truck we saw earlier. This is one of the several roadshow trucks that will be going all over Malaysia to demonstrate (and sell) the iPro LIVEPAD 8.9 tablet.
