Dimensions
On the subject of dimensions, the Ricochet ProSurface 2.52 mouse pad takes up quite a signficant amount of desktop real estate. This is good news for those who tend to experience mouse run-offs due to insufficient mousing area. But it is bad news for those who have very little desktop real estate to begin with.
Nevertheless, this shortcoming is made up by the fact that the Ricochet ProSurface 2.52 is a very LAN party-friendly mouse pad. You are essentially getting two mouse pads for the same weight and thickness.
In this revision of the Ricochet ProSurface 2.52, Everglide included four additional pad feet to prevent the mouse pad from warping after prolonged use. They also provide a better grip of the surface that the mouse pad rests on. Still, I managed to dislodge the mouse pad during several intense gaming sessions. Further testing of the mouse pad revealed that the mouse pad feet worked best on glass surfaces; and less on the usual wood or plastic surfaces.
To test for any warping problem, I placed the mouse pad under extremely intense sunlight here in Malaysia for more than 6 hours. To my surprise, there was only minimal warping of the mouse pad and it was easily 'repaired' by counter-bending the mousepad.
With that said, all mouse pads, however durable, will still succumb to physical contortions when sufficient force is exerted on them. For example, if you stack heavy books on your mouse pad. Therefore, it is advisable to still take good care of this mouse pad, despite its durability!
