As such, it isn't surprising to see these modules use the XTC (Xtreme Thermal Convection) heatspreaders. The XTC heatspreaders with its honeycomb design, is supposed to greatly improve the cooling of memory chips. That would be really important when the memory chips are overvolted as much as these chips are. It's also good to note that OCZ is backing up these memory modules with a lifetime warranty. No matter how overclocked or overvolted the memory chips in these memory modules are, you can be assured of a replacement from OCZ should anything untoward happen to the modules. These modules use the Micron D9 GMH DDR2 memory chips which are reputed to be very overclockable.
