More On The AMD Radeon R9 Nano
Amazingly, it will use 30% less power than the AMD Radeon R9 290X, allowing it to use only a single 8-pin power connector!
Because it runs so cool, AMD is able to use a slower-speed fan, reducing the noise level by 16 dBA to just 42 dBA!
Do not mistaken the AMD Radeon R9 Nano for a cut-down graphics card. This is meant to be a "halo product" for AMD, on par with the Radeon R9 Fury X. The only difference is that the Radeon R9 Fury X has a higher target power while the Radeon R9 Nano is focused on achieving maximum power efficiency.
That is why the AMD Radeon R9 Nano features a premium industrial design with a full metal shroud, as well as a cooler with dual vapour chambers and heatpipes. They even included a dedicated heatpipe to cool the voltage regulator!
This focus on achieving power efficiency allows the AMD Radeon R9 Nano to achieve up to twice the performance per watt, and performance density, as the AMD Radeon R9 290X!
And all that power resides in a small graphics card that will have no problem fitting in a mini-ITX case.
Here, AMD gives a few examples of how small the computer chassis can be for you to slot in an AMD Radeon R9 Nano! Its name truly is apt.
