Mushkin PC4400 Hi-Perf Dual Pack |
Mushkin's PC4400 modules came out quite a bit later than the rest of the competition. In fact, it is a direct competitor to the Corsair XMS4400 TwinX memory kit we reviewed earlier - both memory kits have identical rated timings and clock speeds. The overclocking results were not remarkable at all the latencies we tested, including the ultra-tight 2-2-2-5 and the stock 2.5-4-4-8 timings. Even a voltage bump of 0.2V did not seem to help things at all. However, I wouldn't take the overclocking results too seriously since different modules of even the same model will perform differently. The whole point of getting PC4400 modules is to hit 275MHz. Anything above that is beyond any manufacturer's guarantee. The Mushkin PC4400 modules should perform just as well as Corsair or Patriot memory modules, since they are all based on the same Brainpower PCB and Samsung TCCD chips. If I were you, I would choose the cheapest of the bunch!
