RAM Heatsink
The RAM heatsinks are just like the ones included in ZM80D-HP - low-profile, blue-anodised aluminium heatsinks.
The heatsinks are extremely light, at just 1.9g. They come with thermal tape pre-applied. Peel off the protective layer and just attach them to the RAM modules. According to Zalman, the adhesive strength will increase to 90% after 24 hours of curing. But I wouldn't worry about the RAM heatsinks falling off the memory chips, since they are so light. The thermal tape only allows one application.
Fan
There is not much information provided by Zalman regarding the fan specification. It's a frameless 80x15 fan. The sticker right behind the fan hub states 'ZF8015ATM', 2-Ball, 0.14A.
This fan was designed specifically for VF700 heatsinks. It spins at 1350 rpm in the 5V mode and 2650 rpm at 12V. Noise level is very low at 5V, just a whisper at 18.5dB. Noise level remains reasonably low even at 12V, at just 28.5dB. Note that these measurements are normally taken 3 feet away from the fan.
During my initial testing with the VF700-AlCu, I did not hear any fan-related noise other than the sound of air whooshing past the heatsink fins. But since this product caters to quiet cooling enthusiasts, I tried to listen for any unusual noises.
While testing the VF700-Cu at 5V, I heard a faint clicking noise, but only when I put the fan right next to my ear. So, I would say that this fan is very quiet at 5V.
At 12V, the wind noise was apparent in a quiet system. But I think it's mandatory to run it at 12V, if you have a high-end card, especially the top-of-the-line cards like NVIDIA 6800 Ultra or ATI X800XT PE which get very hot.
The fan specifications are extremely similar to the ZM80D's optional fan - the same dimensions and same power consumption. Air-flow wise, they should be pretty much similar, too.
Miscellaneous Parts
The mounting parts are significantly less complicated than the older heatpipe series. Zalman has decided not to provide 'spare parts', but they included a few extra rubber washers and screws.
A Zalman sticker was provided for bragging rights!
