PDA Vs. Paper : Fight!

Conclusion

A long time ago, there was a debate amongst PDA enthusiasts about whether PDAs would really replace paper organizers for good. Little did they know that the true PDA would cease to exist. Rather, it would evolve into the PDA phones of today.

Well, the future is here now. The debate is over. While it is true that dedicated PDAs have more or less lost the battle against paper organizers, their deaths were not in vain. They did not lose the war per se. They merely became the womb that incubated the PDA operating system that became part of PDA phones today.

For handling and organizing personal information data and scheduling appointments, PDA and PDA phones are definitely light-years ahead of the paper organizer. We can be certain that the paper organizer will never die out (unless we run out of trees!) as nothing truly beats the feel of paper.

Nevertheless, paper organizer have evolved little since they were invented. In comparison to the PDA phone, they are weak in what matters most - efficient organization. If you are serious about organizing your data, nothing beats a PDA and that difference will become even more significant over time.

No matter whether you want to transition from paper to digital organizers, PDA phones are here to stay. While they may not be able to offer superior qualities to paper organizers in some aspects, they will evolve and become better and more user-friendly.

In fact, we foresee that all phones in the future will have some PDA capabilities. It doesn't matter whether they are low-end or high-end mobile phones. It doesn't matter whether they are running Windows Mobile or other operating systems like Symbian. Sooner or later, mobile phones will have PDA functionality by default. When that happens, you might as well make full use of it!
