Contents - Xpanel
Upon opening the box, I unwrap the Xpanel and here it is.
The Xpanel is completely made of aluminum. What I found interesting is that it also has two USB ports and one Firewire port on its faceplate. There is also a microphone and audio out jack too. This looks interesting.
The cooling fan isn't visible from above, so I decided to have a look underneath the cooler to locate the fan.
Here it is. As you can see, the 70mm fan is designed to blow air into the cooler unit and hence cool the lower portion of your hardisk.
Notice in the picture above, you will see that there seems to be two latches on top of the Xpanel's face plate.
These latches keep the top cover locked on. By pressing both of them simultaneously, they allow you to slide off the top cover of the unit.
Sliding the top cover open, you can see the inside of the cooler. The 70mm fan is also visible here. The power cord is pre-affixed but it can be detached. You can also just make out the various connectors that the Xpanel has on the inside.
