The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G2was faster than the G1 at reads; but surprisingly, much slower at writes. However, its overall score pushed it right to the top.

When it came to large 512 KB random reads and writes, the Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G2 exhibited the same characteristics. It was faster than the G1 at reads but much slower at writes. When used with a USB 2.0 port, the DT Ultimate 3.0 G2 delivered a very high read speed of 35 MB/s. However, its poor write speed pulled it down and it ended up slower than the G1.
