IOPS Scaling (Random)
In these tests, we tested the drive's ability to tackle multiple input/output operations. We compared the 6 TB Western Digital Black (WD6001FZWX) to the 6 TB Western Digital Green (WD60EZRX). For more performance comparisons, please take a look at The Hard Disk Drive Performance Comparison Guide.
The 6 TB Western Digital Black is significantly faster than the 6 TB Western Digital Green. Even more impressively, it was particularly fast with multiple simultaneous accesses in the 4 KB and 512 KB Random Read tests. This shows that the LSI TT07143 controller is faster than the Marvell 88i1047 controller used in the 6 TB Western Digital Green.
