Introduction
Overclockers have always tried to push their hardware to the max. For this group of enthusiasts, running anything at stock speed is never an option.
So, it's not surprising to see some companies producing products that would appeal to these enthusiasts. This small but immensely influential niche market has always been highly competitive.
Overclockability and raw performance have replaced the main reason why many people overclock, which is cost efficiency. These days, enthusiasts demand leading edge performance and quality, and they don't mind paying for it.
Today, we will be looking at one of the most popular memory modules for overclockers in the market - the OCZ PC-3200 Gold Voltage eXtreme Dual Channel Memory Kit.
The Package
The OCZ PC-3200 Gold VX modules came in a clear plastic retail package, which is standard for all OCZ memory modules.
The clear plastic box allows the modules to be clearly seen but it doesn't provide enough protection from the horrors of modern day postal services on its own. You should further protect it with bubble wrap and a sturdy box if you intend to have it mailed.
The back of the package lists the features of these memory modules, as well as some accolades from various websites.
Fortunately, OCZ had the foresight not to use the sealed blister package, which is horrendously hard to open. This package was held together by two plastic locks and was therefore very, very simple to open.
