After Flashing The Card
After flashing my own Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB card into a FireGL X2 card, I booted into Windows XP and installed the FireGL driver. My card was identified as a FireGL X2 after restarting the computer!
However, the "professional features" were still disabled and the performance was not increased. There were no special control panels for FireGL X2. Somehow, the installation of the control panels were skipped during the driver installation.
But first, check out what happens if you install the non-patched drivers after flashing your Radeon into a FireGL. Here are a few screenshots of the display properties.

Some 'special' FireGL panels were missing.

We are going to have a look on how to patch the FireGL drivers and enabling them to be installed successfully on the next page. It's a very tedious process and I hope you carefully read everything about it because missing one step could make the mod unsuccessfully done. RivaTuner is currently the only tool to patch the FireGL drivers.
