Let's Turn It On!
Let's turn this baby on!
After pressing the power button, you will be greeted by a Dell screen. The Dell Pocket DJ has a very quick boot up: you will only see this screen momentarily before it starts playing the previous track you were listening. It was so quick that I had trouble capturing the shot you see above, although I managed after several attempts.
Finally, its alive!
As you can see, the Pocket DJ is lit up in blue. All of the buttons on the front of the Pocket DJ (with the exception of the scroll wheel) is also lit up in blue. I had hoped that the scoll wheel would have been lit up in blue, too, though.
The power button on the top of the Pocket DJ also lights up.
Using The Pocket DJ
Main Menu
If you noticed on the front of the Pocket DJ, there is a button with the home symbol on it. That will take you to the main menu.
The Little Button with the Home symbol take you back to the Main Menu
From the main menu, access to all the features of the Pocket DJ is easy. You can view your current playlist, view your music library, date and time, play mode (sets repeat, shuffle, etc) and other settings.
Music Library
Let's take a look at the Music Library option.
From here, you can select your playlist and also view your MP3s, by categories or otherwise. The scroll wheel takes you to your playlists.
The playlist submenu let's you quickly select the playlist you want to use.
Date And Time
Now let's look at the Date and Time settings.
The Dell Pocket DJ has the time and date stored in its operating system. You can even view the calender. If you're worried about setting this up, you don't have to worry at all. Once you plug the Dell Pocket DJ into your computer, the time and date will be synchronized with the time and date that is on your computer. I really love how they made it that simple.
