Size Comparison
The COUGAR is a compact PSU. Here, we compare it to the Mushkin HP-580AP, which is a 580 W power supply. As you can see, it's much shorter than the old Mushkin power supply. The other dimensions remain the same, of course, since they both comply with the ATX specifications.
Cables & Connectors
Unlike some PSUs that are targeted at the hardware enthusiast market, the 550W PowerX PSU has fixed cables. This diagram provided by COUGAR conveniently describes the number of cables and connectors, as well as the cable lengths.
These are the cables and connectors that come with the 550W PowerX PSU :
Included Accessories
The COUGAR PowerX 550W PSU comes with a pretty informative manual. The instructions are on the thin side and lack diagrams, but if you need them, then perhaps you shouldn't be installing a PSU by yourself!
The package also includes a set of 5 screws (you only need 4, the fifth is a spare), 5 cable ties for cable management during installation and a power cord. We would have preferred reusable velcro strips though.
