Western Digital My Passport Wireless 2 TB Drive Review

SD Card Slot

The 2 TB Western Digital My Passport Wireless comes with a SDHC slot located on the upper left edge of the black top plate, right next to the WD logo. It comes with a card blank "preloaded" to prevent dirt from getting in. The slot is spring-loaded so all you have to do is press on the card to pop it out.

Contest iconThe SD card slot is SDA 2.0-compliant, and therefore supports both SD and SDHC cards with capacities of up to 32 GB. Please note that it does not (officially) support the newer and larger-capacity SDXC cards. It also does not appear to support the higher-speed UHS-I bus, and is thus limited to a peak transfer rate of 25 MB/s.

Although there is no requirement for UHS-I speeds since it is only designed to offload or copy photos and videos from your memory card to the drive, the slower speed will mean that copying a full 32 GB SDHC card will take at least 22 minutes to complete.
