The End Of The Road
To make way for new models, some of the older models will inevitably be discontinued. This is the latest processor lifecycle roadmap from Intel.

These four processors are scheduled to be discontinued in Q1, 2009 :
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6850
- Intel Core 2 Duo E4700
This will be followed by these processors in Q2, 2009 :
- Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770
- Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650
- Intel Core 2 Duo E8300
- Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2180
- Intel Celeron Dual-Core E1200
