Throttling Of Automatic Updates

When it come to Automatic Updates, Microsoft will be throttling the release of Internet Explorer 8 over a six month period, starting in April 2009. The throttling of IE8 downloads via Automatic Updates will be managed regionally, with inital throttling levels between 1% and 10%. This will gradually increase to 100% on a weekly basis over 6 months.

IE8 Support Policy

Microsoft will provide unlimited installation and usage support at no charge to all customers who obtain IE8 from the Microsoft Download Center, Windows Update, Automatic Updates or mail order CD.  Customer support will begin on RTW and will be available through December 31, 2009.
