A Closer Look At The Transformer Book Chi
Despite being just 7.6 mm thin (without keyboard attached), the ASUS Transformer Book T300 Chi sports a USB 3.0 micro-B port (there is a second USB port elsewhere), a mini HDMI port and a 3.5" audio port on one side...
And these two charging ports on the other end. Yes, the detachable keyboard has its own built-in battery, which not only means it won't leech power from the tablet's battery but it also allows you to use the keyboard at a distance.
Here is a closer look at the full-sized keyboard, and the magnetically-locked hinge.
To detach the tablet, all you have to do is PULL the tablet away from the keyboard. It is locked using neodymium magnets, so some force is required.
Here is a closer look at the two steel lugs that keep the tablet locked in place so you can change the angle of the display in notebook mode, without it falling off.
This is what the ASUS Transformer Book T300 Chi tablet looks like, once detached from its keyboard.
And here is the keyboard... all alone.
The detached keyboard is still active and connected to the tablet by default, so it continue to drain power unless you switch it off using the Bluetooth power switch on the upper left corner of the keyboard.
