Business Disk WinBench 99
The improved 2 TB Western Digital Caviar Green (WD20EARX) did poorly in this test, actually coming in much slower than its predecessor, the WD20EARS. This is partly due to its slower spindle speed, even though both drives are officially similar with the sole difference being the SATA interface.

The new WD20EARX did much better in the High-End Disk WinMark 99 test, delivering the same throughput as the WD20EARS, and increasing its performance lead over the slower hard disk drives in this comparison.
