The Barracuda!
Here's a look at the top plate of the 400GB Barracuda 7200.8 hard disk. The top plate is adorned with a single long label, listing its capacity, model number, serial number and firmware revision.
If it wasn't for the label, you wouldn't even know it harbours a massive capacity of 400GB! As you can also see on the label, this hard disk was manufactured in Singapore.
In addition, the label lists the technical support numbers of several countries around the world. In fact, it's long enough for Seagate to actually include a short installation guide!
The underside is bare, except for a small PCB. We will examine that PCB in the next page.
Here are the right and left views of the Barracuda 7200.8 hard disk.
Nothing much in the front, except for a small label.
The back of the hard disk sports the SATA connectors as well as the jumper block.
Now, let's take an in-depth look at the drive and its various features and components!
