The Corsair F90 Solid State Drive
The Corsair F90 solid state drive has the official part number of CSSD-F90GB2-BRKT. The BRKT in the part number points to the inclusion of a 3.5" drive bay bracket. However, this is superfluous since all of their solid state drives ship with the 3.5" drive bay bracket.
This drive is designed to replace regular 2.5" hard disk drive, so it has the same form factor and looks pretty much like a 2.5" hard disk drive. The only difference is it is much lighter than a hard disk drive, and the case is flat on both sides. The top has a simple label that lists the model, part number, capacity, and place of manufacture, amongst other things.
Usable Capacity
The Corsair F90 solid state drive has an official unformatted capacity of 90 GB. We checked that out by formatting both in NTFS using Windows Vista.
The actual formatted capacity was 90,025,488,384 bytes. This is slightly (~25.5 MB) above the official storage capacity. With about 97 MB allocated to the NTFS file system, the actual usable capacity was about 71 MB below 90 GB.
Let's take a look at its specifications.
