TM2 Bus Ratio
Common Options : 0 to 255
Quick Review
This BIOS option is only available if you select Thermal Monitor 2 using the Thermal Management BIOS feature. It determines the CPU bus ratio that will be used when the CPU's Thermal Monitor 2 determines that the CPU is overheating and attempts to reduce the thermal output by throttling the CPU clock speed.
Although the BIOS allows you to select bus ratios of 0 to 255, this is actually limited by the bus ratios that your CPU actually supports. The lower the bus ratio, the faster the CPU can reduce its thermal output, albeit with a bigger effect on the CPU's performance.
As most Intel processors have a minimum multiplier of 6x, it is recommended that you set the TM2 Bus Ratio to 6. When something bad like a CPU fan failure happens, the CPU's survival matters more than its performance.
