OnChip USB
Common Options : V1.1+V2.0, V1.1, Disabled
Quick Review
This BIOS option is a variant of the Onboard USB Controller BIOS option. It enables or disables the motherboard's onboard USB controller, and allows you to determine its signalling rate.
When set to V2.0+V1.1, the BIOS will enable the motherboard's USB controller, and set it to support both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1.
When set to V1.1, the BIOS will enable the motherboard's USB controller, but set it to support only USB 1.1.
When set to Disabled, the BIOS will disable the motherboard's USB controller, which renders all built-in USB ports non-functional.
It is recommended that you select V2.0+V1.1 so that the motherboard's USB controller can perform to its full potential.
You should only select V1.1 if you are facing compatibility issues with some USB 2.0 devices. This forces all USB 2.0 devices to use the much slower USB 1.1 signalling rate.
Disabling this BIOS option has the side effect of freeing up the IRQ used by the USB controller for other devices to use. However, disabling this feature will not be necessary with APIC-capable motherboards because they come with more IRQs.
