PCI Bus Parking
Common Options : Enabled, Disabled
Quick Review
This BIOS feature controls the PCI Bus Parking feature. It allows you to choose the default PCI bus owner.
When enabled, the PCI arbiter parks the idle PCI bus on the last bus master to have control of the PCI bus. That PCI bus master will then be able to quickly access the idle PCI bus.
When disabled, the PCI arbiter parks the idle PCI bus on CPU accesses to the PCI bus. This provides the CPU with quicker access to the idle PCI bus.
It is recommended that you disable this BIOS feature so that the PCI bus is parked on the PCI arbiter itself. This allows it to grant the CPU instant access to the idle PCI bus, thereby improving CPU writes to the PCI bus. This may also improve the processor's performance by reducing the amount of time it spends writing data to the PCI bus.
