Notebook Layout
Let's start easy and look at the layout of the Portégé M200.

The M200 has a dual color design - silver for the display frame and black for the body itself.
The body is made out of a tough plastic. Maybe it's the ABS type but I'm not sure. The display portion is made from the same plastic material, only coated with silver paint.
Front View
This is how the M200 looks like from the front. On the left, you have a built-in SD card slot which seems to be pretty standard on Toshiba notebooks. It feels a bit slow but it's still nice to have. The front of the body is also where they placed the mic input and earphone jacks as well as the volume control knob.
On the left side of the M200, there is a slot for the notebook lock, right at the end. The IR transmitter, the hard switch for the WiFi radio and a PC Card Type 2 slot are also found on the left side of the M200.
Left Side
The PC Card slot has a door that serves to close and protect the slot from dust when there is no card in the slot. This is better than other notebooks which use a plastic dummy card instead. Unlike the dummy card, you can't misplace a slot door!
The right side of the M200 is where the stylus is stored. A spring catch holds the stylus in place. To eject the stylus, just push the stylus in and it will pop out. Not really the best implementation because the stylus doesn't quite pop out far enough sometimes. So, you may have to dig it out - feels a bit clumsy.
Right Side
There is a little hole next to the stylus silo. You can attach a string to it and tie that string to the stylus so you won't lose it that easily!
There is also a notebook lock slot on this side. It is nice of Toshiba to put the lock slot on both sides - you never know which side people prefer to use.
Rear View
In the back, there is the power socket, two USB 2.0 ports, an external monitor port, the modem port and a LAN port (from left to right). You can also see the notebook cooler's exhaust port at the far right.
