WinBench 99 Version 2.0
Business Disk WinBench 99
The WD Elements Play was superb in this test, delivering a throughput of 17.6 MB/s. Despite its truly pathetic USB transfer rate, it still managed to beat the other external hard disk drives in this test.
High-End Disk WinBench 99
In the High-End Disk WinMark 99 test though, it was overtaken by the Seagate FreeAgent Pro running in FireWire mode. Still, it managed to beat the FreeAgent Pro drive in USB mode.
Transfer Rate Range
This chart shows you the range of transfer rates of these external hard disk drives (from minimum and maximum).
The WD Elements Pro had the worst transfer rate, delivering only a maximum transfer rate of 19.4 MB/s. Even the 750 GB Seagate FreeAgent Pro running in USB mode was able to deliver a minimum transfer rate of 31.9 MB/s, which is 64.4% faster.
