This is one of the two most important tests for the 1 TB Seagate Backup Plus drive as this shows how fast it is at transferring small files. The1 TB Seagate Backup Plus was the fastest drive at small 4 KB sequential accesses, beating even flash-based drives like the 64 GB OCZ Enyo. When used with a USB 2.0 port though, the performance gap disappeared and the 1 TB Seagate Backup Plus actually ended up as the slowest portable HDD in this comparison.

This is one of the two most important tests for the 1 TB Seagate Backup Plus as this shows how fast it is at transferring large files. Again, the 1 TB Backup Plus proved to be a very fast drive, coming in just 1/4 slower than the 64 GB OCZ Enyo. It really pays to use it with a USB 3.0 port - it is 3.6x faster in the standard USB 3.0 mode than it is in the fallback USB 2.0 mode. In fact, it was the slowest drive in this comparison when used in the USB 2.0 mode.
