Buying A Camcorder

Technology is truly a great enabler. From the Internet to digital cameras, technology has allowed the individual greater freedom and ability to express him/herself than ever before. No longer are we reliant only on a few sources of information, ideas, thoughts. It has also allowed us to immortalize our memories and keep in touch with distant friends and relatives.

One of these great technological enablers is the camcorder. The camcorder has not only allowed many families to make their own home videos, it has also allowed budding filmmakers to make indie films without the need for rich (and indulgent) parents or sugar daddies. It is also the catalyst for the emergence and rapid rise of the amateur porn industry. More than a few enterprising and even some unwitting individuals have become famous, thanks to the camcorder.

But no matter what you are using the camcorder for, it pays to do a little research before you even step into a shop. Reading up on camcorders will allow you to filter out the sales talk and select the right camcorder for your needs.

In this guide, we aim to help you make that decision by taking you through the various features of the camcorders in the market. We will tell you what they really mean to us, the user; and we will tell you what their pros and cons are. Let's start with the latest fad - high definition recording.
