IOPS Scaling (Random)
In these tests, we tested the drive's ability to tackle multiple input/output operations. We compared the 4 TB Western Digital Blue (WD40E31X) SSHD to the 4 TB Western Digital Red (WD40EFRX). For more performance comparisons, please take a look at The Hard Disk Drive Performance Comparison Guide.
The 4 TB Western Digital Blue SSHD was magnificent in these tests. While it was only slightly faster in small random reads, it was almost 3x faster in small random writes, more than 2x faster in large random writes, and about 50% faster in large random reads.
