Not only does it come with a unique retractable microphone, you can actually dismantle it into three pieces for easy transportation! In addition, it comes with a USB sounds card that is specially tweaked by a professional gamer. Using the USB sound card allows you to enjoy the same performance even on different systems. Like many headsets, the Steel Sound 5H-USB comes with a controller. But not only does it allow you to control the audio volume, it also allows you to control the microphone's sensitivity level as well as turn it off completely. While the package is pretty complete, we wished that Soft Trading would include a special pouch to allow easy storage of the dismantled headset. In addition, the design of the retractable microphone could do a bit of reworking. During our tests, we found that it gets a little hot under the earcups. While the cotton padding does a great job of wicking away the sweat, the inability to clean them may be a problem. But of course, we are in the tropics! As far as audio fidelity goes, this headset is a great performer. All sounds were faithfully reproduced, although the bass was a little weak. Otherwise, it did a great job. Even the microphone did very well, producing clear recordings with no apparent background noises! If you are looking for a good gaming headset that can be broken down into easy handling and storage, then the Steel Sound 5H is the headset you should check out.
