The CoolPad Surface

Most notebooks actually sit on some sort of rubber feet which prevents the notebook from moving. These rubber feet also raises the notebook above the table surface.

The bevels on the CoolPad surface

To ensure the notebook does not move when placed on the CoolPad, the CoolPad surface features eight bevels. Four of these bevels are placed at both the front and rear sections of the CoolPad.

Even if your notebook's rubber feet do not provide enough grip and allows the notebook to move, the bevels will prevent the notebook from completely slipping off the CoolPad.

No contact!

To prevent damage to the notebook chassis, the bevels are designed to be small enough to avoid contact with the notebook chassis.

The Fan Grate

The centre of the CoolPad features two exhaust fan holes with an aluminum grate. Yes, there is actually only one grate which covers both fans. This grate will prevent anything from dropping into the exhaust fan holes and getting sliced up by the spinning blades. That includes your fingers too!

The CoolPad exhaust fan hole

The fan grate is completely made from aluminium. It's basically a rectangular aluminium sheet with honeycombed perforations.

The honeycombed perforations

Nothing too special about the fan grate, except that it is completely removeable for easy cleaning.

The removeable fan grate

As you can see, the fan grate is easily removed when you need to clean it.
